María Paz Vallejos was born in Michigan, United States, where she lived for a year, before spending two years in Colchester, England. Of Chilean parents, who emigrated to study, she has lived since her three years in Santiago de Chile. She began her higher studies in 2008 at the University of Chile in the career of Public Administration and Political Science, from which he graduated in 2013.

At the same time, since 2006 she has been studying Kandyan Dance, traditional dance of Sri Lanka, becoming professional in 2018 finishing a teaching degree in this country. Since that year she teaches and continues to study dance and percussion with Sri Lankan teachers, now in an expanded way, regarding the traditions of this island. 

In 2019 he founded International Kandyan Art, a Cultural Association that aims to spread the culture of Sri Lanka and publicize the fundamentals of these ritual dances that aims to bring peace and well-being to the community, and also heal people.

In 2017 she completed the Diploma in Body and Capitalism at the University of Santiago de Chile, delving into contemporary philosophies and their relationship with the body and movement, which has led her to investigate and create generating fusion from her different studies about the body, movement, somatic, tradition, rituality and improvisation.

This year she named her School Thaala Kaaya Bhavanaa, which means Rhythm, Body and Meditation, which gives an account of her work at this time, where tradition, rituality and fusion merge.

Since August she joins the company for the theoretical research and writing for the project Pensamiento de Mierda.

She directs and teaches in this project about women and traditional dances of Sri Lanka.
